Effect of using mobile translation applications for translating collocations

چکیده
Purpose This study aims to examine the effects of using mobile translation applications for translating collocations. Design/methodology/approach The followed an experimental design where 47 students English as foreign language in a Saudi university were randomly categorized into two groups. Both groups given task consisting 30 sentences with fixed, medium-strength and weak participants group ( n 23) asked use App (Reverso) translate sentences, while control 24) was allowed only paper-based dictionaries. translations scored analyzed measure if there any significant difference between Findings results indicated that application more effective fixed collocations than collocations, both directions (i.e. from Arabic or vice-versa).
